Area 51
Area 51, Castle Hill
If your kids have energy to burn, Area 51 in Castle Hill is definitely one to add to your list.
This place is huge! Think massive slides, climbing structures, obstacle courses, giant ball pits and interactive play areas. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained, plus a separate toddler zone for the little ones.
There’s also an on-site café for parents to grab a coffee or something to eat.
Our experience
We visited on a weekday during school term and were surprised by how quiet it was. The kids had plenty of space to explore without the crowds.
We imagine weekends and school holidays would be a very different story! We’ve tried booking previously and found it completely sold out, so we’d definitely recommend booking ahead.
Things to know before you go
* Book ahead: Sessions can sell out, particularly during busy periods. * Grip socks: You’ll need to purchase Area 51’s own grip socks. You can’t bring your own. * Age restrictions: Some play areas are for children aged 3 and over, while the toddler zone is reserved for younger children. * Visiting with different ages: If you’ve got a toddler and an older child, it’s worth considering how you’ll manage the separate play zones. * Food and drinks: There’s an on-site café.
Our verdict
Area 51 is a great option for a rainy day or when the kids need to burn off some serious energy. It’s big, bright and packed with things to do.
Our biggest tip? Visit during school term if you can, and make sure you’ve booked before heading out.
Location: Area 51, Castle Hill, Sydney
