Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains
An ice rink, motorboats, slides, swimming pools and more... all at one hotel?!
We recently stayed at Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains, and the amount of activities available for kids is pretty impressive. Located in Leura, the resort has a huge range of indoor and outdoor activities. Whether you're visiting during the school holidays or planning a weekend away, there's plenty to keep little ones busy.
What Is There for Kids to Do?
Ice skating There's a full-sized indoor ice skating rink right at the resort, with public skating sessions available. A fun option for older kids or families wanting to try something different.
Motorboats Kids can ride little motorboats around the resort's lake. These operate during selected hours and are weather dependent, with height restrictions applying.
Playgrounds and giant slide Outside, there's plenty of space for kids to run around, including playground equipment and a giant slide. The slide only operates at selected times and when weather conditions allow.
Indoor play areas The hotel also has a dedicated KidsZone with play areas for different ages. There's a soft play space for younger kids and a larger climbing area for older children.
Mirror maze and arcade A mirror maze and arcade games give kids even more to do indoors. A handy option when the weather turns cold or rainy.
Indoor cinema There's even a cinema inside the hotel, with complimentary movie sessions. Check the schedule at reception to see what's showing during your stay.
Swimming pools The resort has both an indoor heated pool and an outdoor pool, so the kids can enjoy a swim regardless of the season.
Giant fish tank Another fun feature for little ones is the hotel's huge fish tank. Sometimes even the simplest things can keep kids entertained!
What About Food? There are several dining options at the resort, making it easy to organise meals without having to pack everyone into the car. It's also a short drive into Leura and Katoomba if you'd prefer to explore some of the local cafés and restaurants.
Is Fairmont Resort Good for Toddlers? There's plenty for younger children, including soft play areas, playgrounds, swimming and activities around the hotel. Just be aware that some rides have age or height restrictions. Not everything is suitable for toddlers, so it's worth checking before promising them a turn!
Is Fairmont Resort Worth Staying At? If you're looking for a Blue Mountains hotel where the kids will have plenty to do, Fairmont is definitely one to consider.
What makes it stand out is the sheer number of activities in one place. You can spend the morning exploring the Blue Mountains, come back for a swim and still have things to do before dinner.
It's particularly handy for families visiting in colder weather, with plenty of indoor options when outdoor plans don't work out.
