5 Sydney Cafes With a Cubby House
4 October 2026 · 5 min read
Five Sydney cafes where the kids can play while you grab a coffee. Think cubby houses, slides, play kitchens and plenty of spots to sit nearby.
Coffee is always easier when the kids have somewhere to play. These five Sydney cafes all have a cubby house or play space, so you can grab a coffee or something to eat while the kids stay busy nearby.
Sunnyside1. Sunnyside, West Pennant Hills Sunnyside has a fully fenced kids play area right beside the outdoor tables, with a cubby house, toy kitchens, ride ons and plenty of toys to keep little ones busy. They serve all day breakfast, lunch and coffee, and it’s only around five minutes from Koala Park if you want to make a morning of it.
Oat House2. Oat House, Oatley Oat House has a cubby house and slide tucked into the garden, with plenty of outdoor seating nearby. It’s a popular brunch spot with breakfast, lunch and coffee, and a good one when you want somewhere the kids can play while you sit close by.
3. Oli’s Cafe, Miranda Oli’s Cafe has a cubby house with a slide where the kids can play while you stop for coffee or something to eat. The play space is right by the outdoor seating, making this a good option for a casual breakfast or coffee with little ones.
4. Dirty Red, Rozelle Dirty Red has a little play kitchen in the courtyard that’s great for younger kids. If you’re visiting with little ones, ask for a courtyard table close to the play area so you can keep an eye on them while you eat.
Sabah5. Sabah, Silverwater Sabah has a dedicated outdoor kids play area with a cubby house and slide, with plenty of outdoor seating nearby so you can sit with a coffee while the kids play. There’s a good selection for both kids and adults, and with breakfast, lunch and dinner on the menu, it works for more than just a morning coffee stop.
We’ll be sharing a new Top 5 every Sunday, with more of our favourite Sydney spots to visit with kids.
