Playground for them, coffee for you. These five Sydney spots pair a great playground with a café close by, making them easy picks for your next morning out with the kids.
1. Carss Park Playground + By The Bay Cafe 📍 Carss Park Carss Park is a great all rounder, with water views, plenty of play equipment and a separate fenced area for toddlers. By The Bay Cafe is right nearby, making it an easy spot to grab a coffee or stay for breakfast or lunch. Why we like it: The combination of water views, a big playground and a dedicated toddler area makes this one work well for families with kids of different ages. 2. Neild Park + Neild Park Pavilion 📍 Rodd Point Set right on the water, Neild Park is an easy option when you want somewhere the kids can play without committing to a huge outing. There’s plenty of grass for running around and the park sits along the Bay Run, so you can add a pram walk or scooter ride to your visit. Neild Park Pavilion is right there for coffee and food. Why we like it: Playground, café, waterfront and plenty of open space all in one spot. 3. The Canopy + Garçon 📍 Lane Cove The Canopy is one of our picks when you need somewhere that works particularly well for bigger kids. There’s a huge playground with plenty to climb and explore, plus a large grassy area for running around or setting up a picnic. Garçon is located alongside The Canopy, so you can easily turn playground time into breakfast, lunch or coffee. Why we like it: Lots of space and plenty to do, with cafés and shops surrounding the playground. 4. Ryde Park + Sotto on Ryde 📍 Ryde Ryde Park is a great option for toddlers and younger kids, with a fenced play area and a little scooter track that adds something different to your usual playground visit. Sotto on Ryde is close by and very pram friendly, making this an easy morning outing with little ones. Why we like it: A toddler friendly playground, scooter track and an easy café stop nearby. 5. Paperbark Playground + Good George Cafe 📍 Parramatta Paperbark Playground is a good one for kids who love to climb and explore. There’s plenty of climbing equipment, a sandpit with shade cloth overhead and a big open space surrounding the playground. Pair it with a stop at Good George Cafe for coffee or something to eat. Why we like it: A spacious playground with plenty for active kids, plus a café nearby.
